01
Initial inquiry
The process begins with the initial contact, where you will share details about your project. This might include the type of document (e.g., medical document, website, app content, legal contract), source and target languages, word count, file format, and desired turnaround time.
02
Assessment and cost estimation
In this step, I will assess the original document and your request to provide a cost (based on my established rate) and delivery (completion) estimate within 24 hours.
03
Confirmation and Onboarding
Once you accept the estimate, we will move forward with the onboarding step. This might involve signing a contract, collecting payment information, and requesting any additional project materials.
04
Translation & Quality Assurance
The translation process involves two steps. First, I will translate the content, prioritizing accuracy in meaning, fluency in the target language, and cultural appropriateness for the target audience. Then, a meticulous editing and proofreading stage will ensure the translated text is polished to perfection, free of typos, formatting errors, and inconsistencies in style.
05
Delivery and Feedback
In the last step, you will receive the final translated document in your preferred format via email or designated delivery method. Also, I will be happy to receive any feedback you may have about the translation process or the final product. Following delivery, the invoice will be sent to your email within a maximum period of 24 hours.

FAQ
Why You Need a Professional Translator
Here are some of the most common questions I get about my translation services
How much do you charge?
The price will depend on the complexity of your source text, the format, and the length of your document. After establishing these details during a free email, phone or Zoom consultation, I will prepare a detailed, non-binding quote for you at no charge. Deadlines will always be agreed with you in advance.
What types of documents do you translate?
In the life sciences field, I can translate a comprehensive range of documents. For clinical research, this includes crucial documents for trials like protocols, amendments, investigator brochures, consent forms, case report forms, safety reports, patient information materials, and clinical study reports. My medical translation expertise covers articles, case report forms, all aspects of clinical trial documentation (informed consent forms, HIPAA/assent forms), and educational materials.
What is a sworn translation?
This usually means an officially accepted translation which certifies its accuracy with regard to the original document and which is performed by a professional translator approved by the competent authority in each country. Not everyone has the capacity to certify a translated document. To acquire this capacity, professionals need to be competent in a specific field and obtain the Sworn Degree in the specific country.
I am a sworn translator from English into Spanish in Uruguay. I provide sworn translations of legal documents which are intended for official use there (submission before the Uruguayan authorities) like contracts, insurance policies, articles of incorporation, birth or marriage certificates, school transcripts, university degrees etc.
What is the difference between translation and interpretation?
Translation and interpretation, while both crucial for cross-cultural communication, differ in their approach. Translation focuses on written communication, meticulously converting text from one language to another while considering cultural nuances, like writing a well-phrased letter for someone who doesn't share your language. Interpretation tackles spoken communication in real-time. Here, the interpreter acts like a bridge between languages, instantly grasping the speaker's message and cultural context, then conveying it accurately to the listener. So, while both involve cultural understanding, interpretation adds the pressure of immediacy and on-the-spot comprehension.
